Storytelling for social impact

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 12 years old. After 10 years, I was finally able to quit and it was the most difficult thing I have ever done. I now use my story to inspire others to create futures free from the problem that is tobacco. The projects included on this page all revolve around my story as a leading tobacco prevention advocate.

2018-Present (multiple dates)

The video above was created in 2019 to share my story. The video has since been incorporated into design-led storytelling workshops that have educated tobacco prevention activists across the country on storytelling for social change.

The video below was taken at the 2020 Walgreens Boots Alliance annual meeting of shareholders in Wilmington Delaware. In trying to advocate for the removal of tobacco from pharmacies, I shared my story and asked a question to the board of directors. Below is a recording of my question and response from Jim Skinner who is the current chair of the board and the former CEO of McDonalds.

Pictured above is the Governor of Indiana Eric Holcomb and myself. This photo was taken right after sharing my story with 100+ youth advocates at the statehouse in Indianapolis (news link here).

As an experiential marketing specialist, I went on tour to over 35 high schools across the country. I engaged with my peers at events like VidCon, High School Nation, and Atlanta Pride to name a few. At each of these events, I led interactive games, engaged in meaningful conversations, and shared my story with anyone willing to listen. Below are pictures from some of these experiences.
